This is a tutorial on how to play better
badminton. If you're looking for ways to improve your game, whether you've never picked up a racket or you've been playing for
20 years, you've come to the right place. There's something here for everyone!
The tutorial is divided into three main
sections. The Beginners section is aimed at those just
starting out.
The Intermediate section is for those who can play a reasonable game but
could use some coaching. The Expert section is for competition level
play.
It is recommended that the reader work
through each section, even if simply to revise technique, rules and tactics
already known.

Why
play?
|

Badminton is a great game that everyone can
enjoy, regardless of size or shape. It's great for anaerobic fitness, Your reactions will improve and your explosive power will benefit.
The game seems so simple but once you start playing, you will keep wanting
to try new shots, different angles, better foot work and eventually, will
put all these together to deceive your opponent with surprise shots.

Who am I?
|
|
I've been playing badminton since I was
about 8, having picked up the game from my parents (who continue to play
regular social games, and they're 50+!). I've had coaching from some
of the top badminton players in the world, played competitively for 6
years, coached a junior team 1 year, and still enjoy playing regularly.

Why did I write this tutorial?
|
|
Well I looked around on the net, couldn't find a decent (and free!) site
on how to play badminton, and decided to write this. I guess it's
difficult to get free information these days. If you don't agree
with something I've written here, feel free to write in my guestbook
or contact
me.
