Mike
Tibbatts worked for the (Royal) Hong Kong Jockey Club (R)HKJC for 23 years
(1980 – 2003).
Mike
specialised in the planning, development and management of equestrian
centres, riding schools and training facilities.

Mike was
(R)HKJC’s Manager of Equestrian Facilities and Senior Starter from 1985 –
2000.
Mike was
Racing and Equestrian Consultant to HKJC from 2000 – 2003.
Mike is
Managing Director of TrackWise.
Mike has
British Horse Society (BHS) intermediate teaching qualifications and
adapted these to the education of the retired racehorse, and those who
ride him, for all equestrian disciplines, ceremonial police duties and
parades.
The retired
racehorse needs time and ‘space’ to break the mould of the racing regimen
and learn new skills.

Tuen Mun
Public Riding School in the New Territories of Hong Kong was designed and
managed by Mike Tibbatts.
This was
opened by HRH The Princess Royal in March 1994.

Mike designed and subsequently
managed Lei Yue Mun Public Riding School in Hong Kong.
   
In conjunction with
Leigh and
Orange,
Mike designed and subsequently managed one of the most advanced
equestrian facilities in the world at the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Beas
River Country Club in Hong Kong.
[Beas
River was the first overseas equestrian centre to host British Horse
Society examinations.
Beas
River hosted the FEI Bureau Meeting in 1993, which lead to Hong Kong
hosting the FEI General Assembly in 1998.]

[Beas
River Equestrian and Rehabilitation Centre is home to 258 horses.]
Mike advised on
the design, construction and subsequent management of the first
Equestrian Centre in PR China in Shanghai.

[The
Equestrian Events for the All China (PRC) National Games in 1997 were
held here for the first time as part of the PRC National Games.]
